This role currently includes one direct report and may expand to include oversight of broader EHS, Human Performance, and Regulatory Affairs teams. You will work cross-functionally with executive leaders, corporate teams, site EHS staff, and external stakeholders to drive performance excellence and risk reduction.

- Champion a proactive nuclear safety and human performance culture by driving policies, programs, and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with industry best practices.
- Lead internal governance of compliance, including development and rollout of corporate EHS standards, training, and performance metrics.

**Regulatory Affairs & Compliance**
- Serve as BWXT’s primary representative to the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC), managing all communications, inspections, licensing requirements, and compliance obligations.
- Monitor and interpret regulatory changes across federal, provincial, and municipal levels; assess business impact and lead implementation of necessary updates to policies and procedures.
- Manage all regulatory submissions, including annual CNSC compliance reports, emergency preparedness documentation, and incident response reporting.
- Represent BWXT at public hearings, industry associations, and government consultations.

**Operational Support & Risk Mitigation**
- Provide leadership and guidance to EHS managers and professionals embedded at multiple BWXT sites, ensuring consistency and alignment across locations.
- Oversee the execution of EHS audits, site inspections, and hazard identification processes; lead the closure of findings and corrective actions.
- Ensure rigorous root cause analysis and timely resolution of incidents, injuries, and near misses through structured investigation processes.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to integrate EHS risk controls into daily activities, project planning, and capital initiatives.

**Environmental & Sustainability Leadership**
- Oversee BWXT’s environmental compliance programs, including air, water, and waste reporting, spill response, and environmental impact mitigation.
- Drive sustainability initiatives to improve resource efficiency and reduce the environmental footprint of operations.
- Ensure accurate environmental reporting and interface with regulatory bodies on environmental matters and inspections.

**Training & Performance Management**
- Lead the development and implementation of systematic training programs related to safety, emergency preparedness, human performance, and regulatory compliance.
- Establish and monitor performance metrics (KPIs), using data-driven insights to guide strategic decisions and foster a culture of accountability.
- Deliver executive-level reports and briefings on EHS and regulatory performance, trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
