Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and customer-focused Reef Store Associate to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who loves marine life and has hands-on experience with reef aquariums. You will be responsible for providing expert advice, maintaining livestock systems, and delivering exceptional customer service to hobbyists of all experience levels.

Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Sales:

- Assist customers with selecting livestock, corals, aquarium supplies, and equipment
- Educate customers on saltwater aquarium care, water chemistry, and reef husbandry
- Process sales transactions and maintain a clean, welcoming retail environment
- Troubleshoot aquarium issues and recommend appropriate solutions or products

Livestock & Coral Care:

- Feed and monitor fish, corals, and invertebrates
- Observe and identify signs of illness, stress, or disease
- Perform regular maintenance including water changes, testing, and dosing
- Frag, mount, and price corals as needed

System Maintenance:

- Clean tanks, filters, protein skimmers, and sumps
- Maintain RO/DI and saltwater mixing systems
- Monitor and maintain water quality parameters (e.g., salinity, temperature, alkalinity, calcium, magnesium)

Inventory & Merchandising:

- Stock and organize dry goods, test kits, and aquarium equipment
- Receive livestock shipments, acclimate new arrivals, and update inventory
- Maintain accurate product and livestock labeling

Qualifications:
Preferred:

- Strong knowledge of saltwater/reef aquariums
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and occasional after-hours
- Shopify experience

Good to have:

- Previous retail or aquarium industry experience
- Familiarity with brands like Neptune, Ecotech, Red Sea, Kessil, and AI
- Experience with coral fragging, dosing systems, or aquarium automation
