The Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ontario Provincial Police, and the Bureau Commander, Healthy Workplace Team are seeking a qualified individual to join our Healthy Workplace Team Operations. In this exciting, rewarding and challenging opportunity, you will assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of regional wellness and fitness training programs pertaining to the physical aspects of policing and employee health and fitness. About Us: The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is one of North America's largest deployed police services with more than 5,800 uniformed officers, 2,400 civilian employees and 830 Auxiliary officers. We provide essential services that ensure the safety and security of the people of the Province of Ontario. The OPP is a division of the Ministry of the Solicitor General, the largest operational ministry in the province with a presence in every community across Ontario. We are the largest police service in Ontario and the second largest in Canada. The Healthy Workplace Team provides access to a wide-range of health and wellness services. Our team is comprised of psychologists, mental health clinicians, and care navigators. Our team also offers fitness and nutrition services. The Healthy Workplace Team coordinates organizational and wellness programs including peer support and the Chaplaincy Program. The Team also coordinates and supports the occupational medicine program for employees and managers which is delivered by an external occupational physician. Refer to the "How to apply" section if you require a disability-related accommodation. **What can I expect to do in this role?**: To assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of regional wellness and fitness training programs pertaining to the physical aspects of policing and employee health and fitness. **How do I qualify?**: **Mandatory**: - Ability to pass an OPP background/ security investigation. - Ability to demonstrate adequate cardiovascular fitness, strength and physical ability to lead physical training courses. - Must possess current CPR & First Aid training. **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**: Ability to obtain certification as a CSEP-CEP, based on a set of core competencies as laid out by national fitness professional standards. Knowledge of adult education theory, principles, techniques and practices to deliver training and presentations. Skill in researching, analyzing, organizing and compiling information to develop plans and present information in an understandable manner. Knowledge of legislative framework such as WSIA, OHSA, Ontario Human Rights Code, relevant policies such as Respectful Workplace Policy, Workplace Violence Prevention, programs and business goals to conduct training needs analyses and develop training program curricula. Knowledge and expertise in occupational (task specific) testing and evaluation. Ability to facilitate and participate in physical training programs. Knowledge of planning and project management methodologies, processes and techniques to support training program design and development projects. Oral communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with employees to develop personal fitness, wellness and lifestyle goals, deliver training, and provide coaching. Organizational and planning skills to coordinate fit for duty assessments, presentations and individual/group meetings to build awareness around fitness, wellness and lifestyle initiatives and support corporate wellness initiatives **Additional Information**: At this time, all employees working in congregate living settings are required to provide proof they are fully vaccinated, meaning they are fully vaccinated as defined by the Ministry of Health (refer to: **COVID-19 Fully Vaccinated Status in Ontario**, including 14 calendar days have passed since receiving their final dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
