**General Manager / Regional Operations Manager**

Century Services Corp. seeks a dynamic, hands-on leader to head operations at Century’s Calgary Regional Auction Center located just south of Calgary, Alberta between Okotoks and High River. Century provides appraisal, auctions, and financing services throughout North America. Our clients include public and private corporations, financial institutions, as well as court-appointed and privately-engaged corporate advisers. For over 40 years Century has offered a broad range of skills and solutions to businesses in distress or who are managing growth or transitions including: financing, appraisals, partial or full dispersals, liquidations, bankruptcies or receiverships.

The Regional Operations Manager will play an integral leadership role in managing the business through people, processes and systems. The role includes managing the Regional Auction Center, processing deals, managing contracts, marketing, both buyers & sellers, and collaborating with the sales staff in growing the auction business.

Reporting to and working directly with the senior leadership this role will be responsible for achieving the regional annual Gross Auction Sales, Revenue, and Profitability targets. All staff other than the sales staff (Territory Managers) will report directly or indirectly to the Regional Operations Manager. **For an applicant with direct sales and/or sales management experience preferably within the auction industry, this role can be expanded to be the General Manager with overall branch accountability including the Territory Managers.**
- What will you do:_
- Work with senior business leaders and territory managers, marketing department, and other team admin and yard staff to formulate and execute on site as well as offsite auctions.
- Accountable for auction setup, descriptions, auction content uploads, safety program, site maintenance, sub-contractor management, site administration and day to day operations.
- Manage the performance accountability of direct reports for the site including succession planning.
- Work with admin and sales staff to maintain high levels of customer service onsite as well as offsite.
- Implement auction planning, develop, improve and standardize pre auction, auction day and post auction processes and other operational practices, and grow Century’s presence within the region.
- Collaborate with the accounting department and territory managers in the region to promote a high level of communication between the sales, accounting and operations, develop solutions to deal with issues within the region.
- Perform other related duties as assigned, Century is an ever-changing business and your responsibilities and roles may differ from day to day.
- Qualifications:_
- University Degree in Business Management or Commerce or commensurate experience
- Required minimum of 5-7 years of experience managing a branch, facility, location with interwoven operations and/or movement industrial equipment.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams, onsite as well as offsite, through initiatives and business plans to support evolving business goals, including delivering and executing operational events.
- Strong business acumen, knowledge of business theory, business processes and operations, management principles, and budgets.
- Strong leadership, management, and coaching skills are essential.
- A high degree of customer service orientation, be able to build authentic and long-lasting relationships with customers and inspire the employees to do the same.
- Previous experience working effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proven ability to absorb instructions, effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure, multi-faceted environment.
- This job will require you to:_
- Travel throughout the region as business requires.
- Overnight travel may be required.

Individual compensation packages will be flexible and is based on several factors including experience, qualifications, etc., total compensation range from $80K-$140K

**Salary**: $80,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
