Meat Stocker Job Code: 250 Reports to: Assistant Manager Summary A Meat Stocker properly maintains, zones, and stocks his/her assigned area, assists customers and maintains modular and feature presentations while maintaining exemplary customer service by adhering to the Basic Beliefs and values of Wal-Mart. General ResponsibilitiesFollowing the “One Best Way” Standards of practice.Practicing the 3 Meter Attitude.Answering Customer calls promptly.Assisting Customers in finding merchandise.Answering register calls promptly.Operating the register when needed.Ensuring that department is fully stocked with merchandise and is ready for business.Following proper procedures for handling claims merchandise.Being knowledgeable about register operations.Replenishing back stock from warehouse bins.Providing assistance to the front end Associates with price checks.Adhering to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates.Adhering to food safety and handling procedures and following sanitation and cleaning procedures. Additional ResponsibilitiesAdheres to all company policies and standard operating procedures.Other responsibilities may be assigned. Maintains department operational standards by:Rotating stock and checking for expired products.Zoning the department.Remaining knowledgeable regarding all areas of the store.Ensuring the merchandise is properly signed and priced.Maintaining features.Following proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.Maintaining all risers properly.Maintaining modular labels.Being knowledgeable about items in the departments.Taking orders for Deli Department merchandise; slicing and preparing merchandise, such as meat, cheese, fried chicken; and providing requested assistance.Preparing deli food orders, meat, cheese, and utilizing slicers ,stackers, and other utensils; preparing chicken by using rotisserie oven and deep fryer; and filling prepared salads and side dishes for placement into display area and specialty orders from Customers as required. Practices safe work habits by:Stretching/warming-up prior to shift.Being knowledgeable of and following emergency and safety procedures.Following Health and Safety guidelines.Keeping the area N.C.O. and free of fixtures, unnecessary debris, foreign objects, and liquids.Maintaining unblocked and unlocked exits.Using proper lifting techniques.Stable stacking of merchandise.
