**Role Summary**

We are hiring an experienced butcher to handle our daily meat preparation, retail service, and shop maintenance. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in well-cut product, safe practices, and presenting meat attractively to customers.

**Key Responsibilities**
- **Cutting and trimming** whole carcasses, primals, sub-primals, and portioning to order.
- **Deboning, grinding, and sausage or charcuterie production** as required.
- **Packaging and labeling** for retail and wholesale, ensuring accurate weights and pricing.
- **Customer service**: advise customers on cuts, cooking methods, and special orders.
- **Equipment use and maintenance**: safe operation and daily cleaning of saws, grinders, slicers, and knives.
- **Sanitation and food safety**: follow HACCP and local regulations; complete daily cleaning checklists.
- **Inventory and stock control**: receive deliveries, rotate product, and report shortages.

**Requirements**:

- **Experience**: minimum **5 years** as a butcher or meat cutter in retail, wholesale, or processing.
- **Skills**: expert knife skills, strong knowledge of beef/pork/lamb/poultry cuts, and experience with value‑added products.
- **Certifications**: Food Handler or comparable food safety certification required or willingness to obtain immediately.
- **Physical**: able to stand for long shifts, lift and move up to 50 lbs frequently, work in cold environments.
- **Attributes**: dependable, detail‑oriented, safety‑conscious, strong communicator, and comfortable coaching others.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
