Head Cook Position

Duties
- Supervise and coordinate activities of food preparation, kitchen, pantry and storeroom,
- Order food and kitchen supplies, working within the approved budget, as well as keeping track of inventory,
- Plan and participate in planning menus, preparing and apportioning foods, and utilizing food surpluses and leftovers, ensure food is presented in a pleasing and appetizing manner,
- Possess a flexible and understanding manner,
- Effectively communicate with management, and staff in a professional, courteous and respectful manner,
- Address residents' questions, needs or concerns right away to ensure the residents complete satisfaction.
- Perform all duties as deemed necessary for the success of the team and the satisfaction of Kingsberry’s residents,
- Adhere to all hygienic protocols.

**Requirements**:

- Must possess a current Food Handlers certificate.
- Must possess a clean Police Check.
- Must have at least 1 year experience in the above requirements.
- Effective communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Must be reliable and adhere to all Kingsberry’s policies.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Additional pay:

- Overtime pay

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift

COVID-19 considerations:
All staff are required to wear a surgical mask at all times. Screening is necessary for any visitors to Kingsberry. Staff are expected to maintain hygienic conditions, along with frequent hand sanitizing.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Hamilton, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Cooking/Lead: 1 year (preferred)
- Lead Cook: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Food Handler or equivalent, Current Police check (preferred)
