Position: Shunt Driver / Shipping Helper
Location: Brantford
Pay: $28.78/hr
Shift: Monday - Friday (Days)
Responsible to the Paper Mill Shipper Lead Hand/Mill Supervisor, the Shipper Helper is responsible for the safe and efficient performance of all duties, while controlling raw materials received and stock control. All employees are mandated to create a zero-injury environment and engage actively in all areas of SPS.
Responsibilities:
- Perform safe and efficient operation of a Lift truck
- Assist in loading and unloading of trucks and trailers
- Assist in shipping as directed
- Back up Lead Hand when required
- Accurate completion of all paperwork and data entry
- Placement of product in warehouse
- Use computer programs to compile accurate information and/or reports
- Coordinate changes/adjustments that will affect team member’s areas of responsibility
- Participate and adhere to safety culture and report unsafe conditions
- Maintain good housekeeping standards
Requirements:
- Possess a valid forklift operator’s license
- Knowledge of customer loading patterns on trailer
- Computer skills i.e., Microsoft Office programs
- General math skills
- RF Scanner experience would be an asset
- Class A-Z License would be desirable
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the job
- Are 18 years of age or older
- Have Grade 12 education or equivalent
