Since 1983, J.W. MacIntosh Community Support Services has provided housing and support programs to seniors and families in Dundas County. Our mission is to promote wellness, safety, and independence in a supportive, community-focused environment.
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Facility Manager to provide technical expertise and oversee the property and facilities management of J.W. MacIntosh CSS locations. This includes capital project planning, maintenance, compliance, contractor coordination, and ensuring tenant safety and satisfaction. This is a supervisory position that involves independent oversight of maintenance staff, coordination of contractors, and responsibility for compliance and safety across all properties.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement a capital works and preventative maintenance plan
- Supervise maintenance staff and oversee scheduling and performance
- Conduct regular and move-out inspections and coordinate necessary repairs
- Manage contractor engagement, bids, and service contracts within budget
- Monitor and maintain building systems including water systems, fire safety, CCTV, and security
- Ensure compliance with building codes, ESA regulations, and safety standards
- Maintain supply inventory and building maintenance records
- Respond to tenant maintenance concerns and emergencies
- Collaborating with leadership on maintenance planning and reporting
- Support water testing, emergency readiness, and safety compliance
- Act as the first point of contact for building-related issues
- Provide tenant education on safety and approve minor unit modifications
- Participate in team meetings, maintain confidentiality, and recommend staff training
- Be available to respond to after-hours facility emergencies
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in facility or property management, including contractor supervision and bidding
- Strong technical knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and relevant codes (building, fire, plumbing, elevator)
- Familiarity with the Residential Tenancies Act, Construction Lien Act, and municipal by-laws
- Understanding of WHMIS, OHSA, and safety compliance requirements
- Proven ability to work with contractors, consultants, and regulatory standards
- Skilled in supervision, task prioritization, and performance management
- Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable working with diverse tenant populations, including seniors and individuals with disabilities
- Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for local travel
- Knowledge of emergency response, fire safety, and continuity planning
- Able to use personal tools for basic repairs when needed
- Experience with locksmithing and commercial kitchen equipment is an asset
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Regular travel between local facilities
- Physically active role, including climbing ladders and lifting supplies
- On-call responsibilities for emergency facility issues (not part of a rotation)

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
