We are a fertility clinic located in Stoney Creek Ontario dedicated to providing compassionate and personalized fertility care to individuals and families in Hamilton and the surrounding communities. We are seeking a motivated Medical Laboratory Assistant to support our team in offering fertility consultations/treatments in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Reporting to the Fertility Nurse Manager, Medical Laboratory Assistant will play a key role in providing patient-centered care on a daily basis at the clinic.

**DUTIES**:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Collect blood from patients, log patient samples and prepare and carry out testing
- Performance of diagnostic and quality control tests on human sperm specimens
- Set up medical laboratory equipment and conduct routine laboratory tests and sample analyses in the andrology lab
- Reprocess medical and laboratory equipment, by collecting, decontaminating, sterilizing and repackaging of devices
- Facilitate the maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Assist with the preparation and dissemination of patient information packages, laboratory requisitions, filing of patient reports
- Assist the REI physician with running in-person clinics
- Order and restock single use medical supplies throughout the clinic
- Ensure overall cleanliness of the clinic including spill management/clean-up
- Report any critical incident in a timely fashion to the Nursing Manager and participate in continuous quality assessment and risk management on an ongoing basis
- General office duties as required
- Other duties as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum of Grade 12 diploma is essential
- Has completed a course in Phlebotomy/Medical Laboratory Assistant program
- Previous experience in a medical setting preferred
- Excellent time management skills
- Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational skills
- Self-motivated individual who can work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated initiative and flexibility to meet workload demands
