Kleysen is seeking a **Safety Manager** to lead our Yard, Trucking & Rail safety programs in Alberta. The position will be based in Edmonton and supervise a team of safety professionals in Calgary & in Edmonton.
In this role, you will identify, develop and implement Health & Safety programs that increase health and safety in Alberta operations by maximizing compliance with industry standards and government regulations, and collaborating with the Safety Manager in Winnipeg to create a Kleysen Safety 1st culture in all our locations. This role reports to the Vice-President, Safety, Fleet & Driver Services in Winnipeg.
- Creating effective safe workplace procedures & best practices
- Leading development of safety systems, policies & training & competency assessments
- Conducting & overseeing safety inspections, audits, etc.
- Leading and/or overseeing hazard analysis, risk assessments and incident investigations to determine root cause
- Supporting disability & return to work programs
- Identifying opportunities to support & enhance a Safety 1st culture
- Communicating & reporting on safety metrics to leadership & employees

Qualifications:
- 8 to 10 years of progressive health, safety experience within the liquid handling & product transloading and/or transportation industry
- Post-secondary education in health, safety and environmental management. CRSP designation a definite asset.
- Proven experience developing and leading safety and health programs, including procedures, training, audits, and inspections
- Working knowledge of federal safety and environmental regulations
- Confident communication, conflict management, and problem-solving skills
