**Job summary**

Analyze, understand, synthesize and document, in different ways and for different audiences, the operation and maintenance/operating procedures of CBC/Radio-Canada technology systems.

Manage the various in-house digital document management systems used to publish and archive CBC/Radio-Canada technical documentation.

**Please note that this position is in hybrid working mode.**

**Activity**- Working with Technology & Infrastructure technical staff (architects, engineers, maintenance technicians, system designers, etc.) and CBC/Radio-Canada vendors:- Analyze existing and future technology systems.-
- Understand how they work and distill that information into clear, concise text and visuals.-
- Create workflow and logical dataflow diagrams.-
- Write, adapt, translate and update preventive maintenance and problem-resolution procedures.-
- Write, adapt, translate and update training material for a variety of audiences.-
- Operate the equipment and/or software being documented, in order to capture photos, video sequences and screenshots.-
- Vet documentation to ensure it’s accurate and meets user needs.-
- Design templates to standardize documentation.-
- Copy-edit, adapt, render in plain language and translate existing documentation or documentation created by others.-
- Help create technical publications (articles) or presentations for use internally and externally.-
- Edit photos and video.-
- Organize and file documentation in information management systems used by CBC/Radio-Canada.Moderate or curate and file articles and/or documents created in Wiki-style collaborative information management systems.-
- Help continually improve departmental procedures.**Knowledge**:
- Community college diploma and five years’ experience in a relevant field (electrical engineering techniques, telecommunications, graphic design, computer science, communications, etc.)
- or
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (engineering, computer science, business writing, communications, etc.)-
- Knowledge of office technology: Google Workspace (Docs and Sheets) and Microsoft Office-
- Knowledge of design tools: Google Workspace (Draw) and Visio-
- Assets:- Knowledge of IT and telecommunications systems
- Knowledge of television production systems
- Knowledge of Atlassian’s Jira and Confluence tools
- Knowledge of photo/video creation/editing tools: Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, etc.) and/or Avid Media Composer
- Knowledge of Lucidchart and AutoCAD design software
- Knowledge of OpenText’s Livelink digital document management system
- Knowledge of one or more of HTML, CSS, JSON, XML or YAML
- Knowledge of one or more programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Google Apps Script)
- Solid command of English and French, spoken and written**Creativity**:

- Given the growing variety and complexity of the systems being documented, you must be highly resourceful in the methods you use to document them and make them understandable to a wide range of users.

**Mental effort**:
- This role requires a high degree of concentration on a near-constant basis to analyze and made understandable the systems you document.-
- You must:- Occasionally respond to urgent requests, requiring you to use your judgment and take the necessary initiative to find appropriate solutions based on priorities.
