FULL TIME 3+ Month Contract

12 HR Shifts

$50/ Month Coffee Allowance

$100/ Contract self care allowance

HERO CARE has a proven track record in providing our contract/travel nurses with a variety of exciting, positive and unique working experiences. Our team is now expanding our staffing services to provide contracts to Registered Nurses across Canada

**QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY**:

- **1 YEAR MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED AS A Continuing Care Assistant**:

- Must be ability to operate under pressured under a moments notice
- Vulnerable Sector Screen renewed within the year
- Professional Liability Insurance with CANSWA

**SKILLS & ABILITY**:
- Overall competency in working under pressure-
- Experience in providing general care and support- Knowledge of home care services- Proficient in communication**BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Following the care plan, observing and reporting any substantial findings and/or changes in patient/resident/client’s behaviour to the appropriate registered member of the healthcare team.
- Working under the supervision of a Registered Healthcare Professional such as a Registered Nurse (RN) or a Licensed Practical Nurse Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Perform tasks delegated to them (only if they are trained to perform the delegated task)
- Assisting with ambulation, positioning, and transferring using mechanical lifts such as a Hoyer lift.
- Assisting or providing total personal care such as toileting, bathing, and perineal care.
- Assisting with eating, dressing, and grooming.

**SPECIFIC DUTIES**:

- Assisting nursing staff by answering call bells (In Hospitals and Long-Term care homes)
- Performing sitter duty or patient watch for confused patients in clinical care settings.
- Computer or paper documentation of Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s) and other findings.
- Reporting behavioural and clinical changes to a Registered Nurse, Registered Practical Nurse, Resource Nurse, or Manager.

**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**

- Must provide satisfactory vulnerable sector check
- Must have relevant experience and education/certification
