**QUALIFICATIONS**: Early Childhood Education diploma or equivalent education and experience.

Membership to College of Early Childhood Educators

First Aid/Infant-Child C.P.R.

**FUNCTION OF THE POSITION**: To provide a warm and stimulating learning environment for a group of young children through emergent program planning and implementation.

**AUTHORITY OF THE HOLDER**: - Directly accountable to the Supervisors/Director of Wallaceburg & Area Parent & Preschool Program.

**RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION**:

- Co-ordinate with the team teacher and supervise all playroom activities; including maintaining playroom as a safe stimulating environment to nurture young children's development in all area of development.
- Age appropriate program planning and implementation, guiding children in their physical, social, mental and emotional development in accordance with the philosophy of the Centre.
- Involvement with families on a daily basis through daily recording, verbal input to parents, etc.
- Supervision of activity areas, outdoor or sleep room.
- Working with children while retaining sensitivity to each child's individual needs
- Program set up and clean up, washroom and clean-up, cloakroom, serving meals, etc. for assigned group or other groups when necessary.
- Awareness and understanding of, and compliance with, the philosophy, policies and procedures of all aspects of the Child care program.
- Remain professional at all times and respect the confidentiality of families and associates.
- Acquisition and maintenance of current and valid recognized C.P.R. or First Aid certificate.
- Other carefully designed responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor.

**HOURS OF WORK**: To be negotiated with Supervisors. Shifts are between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.,Monday to Friday.

Rate of pay -$19.85 an hour
