Team Lead, Culinary Market

The Team Lead, Culinary Market employee is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the student culinary market at NAIT. This role involved customer service, inventory management, staff supervision, and maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of the store.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Greet customers, answer their queries, and assist them when selecting and finding merchandise.
- Monitor those in the store to help ensure loss prevention.
- Properly display all store products and place them in an organized manner so that customers can find them easily.
- Have the ability and knowledge to answer customer questions related to information, including availability of products.
- Maintain the overall look of the store and ensure that it is clean, restocked, and properly organized
- Monitor inventory levels, track stock movements, and update inventory records.
- Be involved in planning and preparation of displays.
- Assist with the hiring of staff.
- Identify training and professional development needs of staff.
- Train staff.
- Schedule activities.
- Open and close the service location (key holder)
- Authorize refunds and credits.
- Respond to routine and escalated inquiries to answer questions, clarify information on department services, policy and procedures.
- Take payment; issue refunds/exchanges.
- Reconcile cash on hand/coupons/tickets.
- Operate credit and debit machines.
- Assist customers with selection of service or merchandise.
- Retail activities such as pricing, restocking, tidying and general cleaning of store displays, preparing & arranging merchandising, monitoring customer line-ups.
- Report customer feedback to supervisor.
- Identify inefficiencies and make recommendations regarding services, policies and procedures.
- Liaise with other NAIT departments.
- Other duties as related.
**Skills & Abilities**:
- Strong communication, teamwork, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite of products
- Ability to lift boxes of product up to 50 lbs., plus stand/walk for the majority of the shift
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
**Qualifications**:
- Completion of grade 12 or equivalent combination of education & experience.
- Experience in retail or customer service environment including supervisory experience.
- Customer service and supervisory related training courses an asset.
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
**Remuneration**: $41,486.38 - $51,603.24 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification - Customer Service Rep II).
- This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement._
