**About the Opportunity**:
Nova Scotia Health is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director for Critical Care, Respiratory Therapy, Hyperbaric service, Burns & Plastics for the Central Zone. Working in a co-leadership model with medical and surgical directors, the Director will oversee the operations, planning, and development of specialized services located at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Dartmouth General Hospital, and Victoria General Hospital. The Director is responsible for delivering high-quality quaternary, tertiary, and regional services, ensuring compliance with national and international standards, and overseeing the redevelopment efforts for future care delivery.

The Director works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to implement strategies that support patient-centered, evidence-based care, while maintaining a focus on academic excellence, quality improvement, and service integration across Nova Scotia and Atlantic Canada.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Leadership and Planning**:

- Provide leadership in the operational planning, development, and evaluation of specialized medical and surgical services, ensuring care integration and alignment with national best practices.
- Develop strategic and operational plans in collaboration with Medical Leads, Department Heads, and Service Chiefs to ensure services meet clinical, research, and teaching mandates.
- Collaborate with the Redevelopment Team to plan and prepare for future service delivery, addressing the needs of patients in a changing healthcare environment.
- Lead the development of policies, procedures, and guidelines that align with Nova Scotia Health's strategic priorities and operational objectives.

**2. Quality Service Delivery and System Performance**:

- Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement, ensuring services adhere to safety practices and meet accreditation and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee total quality management efforts, monitor key performance indicators, and lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction, safety, and health outcomes.
- Lead the integration of services across sites to ensure the provision of high-quality, sustainable care across the continuum and lifespan.

**3. Visible Leadership, Partnerships, and Relationships**:

- Provide visible and accessible leadership within the portfolio, fostering a high-performing, collaborative work environment.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including patients, families, community organizations, and foundations.
- Support regular communication and input from stakeholders throughout planning, design, and transition phases of redevelopment activities.
- Champion transformational change by leading change management efforts to achieve program goals, while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning.

**4. Financial Stewardship and Accountability**:

- Manage financial and human resources efficiently, ensuring effective resource utilization and financial management in alignment with Nova Scotia Health's objectives.
- Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets, monitoring expenditures and providing variance reporting.
- Lead the development of financial projections, reporting statistical data, and addressing access and flow issues in collaboration with Medical Site Leads and the Director of Access and Flow.

**5. Talent Management and Employee Engagement**:

- Lead efforts to foster a healthy, safe, diverse, and respectful workplace environment.
- Mentor and develop leadership teams, ensuring staff have the necessary tools and resources for professional growth and optimal performance.
- Promote continuous learning and a culture of collaboration and accountability within the team.
