**The Opportunity**:
Red River Co-op is recruiting for the position of Deli Cook at Southdale Food Store located at 77 Vermillion Road, in Winnipeg. This position reports to the Deli Manager.

Essential responsibilities of the position include the following:

- Prepare cooked food items as per established Co-op recipes and procedures. Ensure consistency in ingredients used and preparation method at all times.
- Maintain sections of merchandise (luncheon meat, cheese, home meal replacement, hot food, bulk product, packaged product) as assigned in an effective manner. Ensure first-in, first-out rotation is followed at all times, and that close-dated product is reported to the Deli Manager.
- Ensure the deli department is properly stocked with merchandise and faced at all times.
- Receive, inspect, and store orders upon delivery to ensure all product is immediately stored in proper temperature-controlled environment.
- Perform general housekeeping duties to ensure department image and safety standards are followed.

**About You**:
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

- Previous experience in retail cooking experience, preferred but not required
- Ability to work early morning hours
- Ability to lift 30 pounds repeatedlyOpen availability and willingness to work different shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends
