Material Planner

One of our manuafcturing clients in Mississauga is looking for a Production / Material Planner.
**Responsibilities**:
As the Production Planner you are responsible for the following,
Thoroughly planning use of productive resources to best utilize and meet customer demands Following up on planning actions to ensure they are being followed Reviewing stocking program levels and ensuring that levels are set in order to best meet customer demand and company objectives
Schedule the supply of materials/components to meet production requirements and stock levels
Collaborate with plant staff and shipping/receiving department's Understand and manage risks to minimize impacts on the production schedule Take follow-up actions in relation to material shortages (determine substitutes, expedite, modify schedule, etc.) Evaluate supplier performance Forecast demand for materials and stock products Enter purchase orders for raw materials and subcontract production work
Adjust priorities for customer orders if required
Regularly review inventory target levels and adjust as needed
Determine stocking and replenishment levels Monitor inventory levels against target levels Perform cycle counts as required
Keep production paperwork organized
Assistant special projects are related to production and inventory control as required
Create inventory items an update existing items in the ERP system as required
Assist product cost accountants with rolling costs Creation an update of BOM and routing Monitor the integrity of BOMs and manage inventory accuracy
Utilize MRP and tools within the ERP system to ensure that data is up to date and accurate
