**About the opportunity**:
Pathogenia Inc is looking for a Laboratory Assistant for the afternoon shift (2-10pm) in their Saint Laurent laboratory. This role requires basic analytical or laboratory knowledge. Freshers are welcome to apply.

**Key Roles & Responsibilities**:

- Carry out the sample receiving, storage, preparation for analysis
- Assist Laboratory Technician in the day to day analysis
- Keeps work area clean, neat and organized during and after analysis.
- Ensures that instruments and equipment are kept clean
- Maintain the records of receptions, cleaning and other day to day tasks
- Verification/calibration of laboratory instruments as per the schedule
- Retain or discard sample, archive lab documents
- Adhere to all safety policies and work in a GLP (Good Laboratory Practices) environment.

**Skills required for this position**:

- Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Safety requirements, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS); disposing of supplies, solutions and other lab materials appropriately and in accordance with these policies and procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and quick learner.
- Good time-management, communication, multi-tasking and priority setting skills.
- Work both independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude and ability to work in an environment where the activities take place at a rapid pace.
- Able to deal with priorities modifications and time pressures.
- Effective time management, multi-task handling and problem-solving skills.
- Strong computer literacy.
- Professionalism, punctuality, and reliability

**Preferred Qualifications**

Appropriate undergraduate degree (e.g. Bachelor of Science) or a discipline related to science.
