**Job Summary**
The Traffic Controller plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians through construction sites and roadwork areas. This position requires a keen awareness of traffic patterns, effective communication skills, and the ability to operate heavy equipment when necessary. The Traffic Controller will work closely with construction crews to facilitate paving and building operations while maintaining safety standards.

**Responsibilities**
- Direct traffic flow around construction sites to ensure safety for both workers and the public.
- Set up and remove traffic control devices such as cones, signs, and barriers.
- Communicate clearly with drivers, pedestrians, and construction personnel to provide instructions and guidance.
- Monitor road conditions and report any hazards or issues to supervisors.
- Assist in the operation of heavy equipment when required, particularly during paving and building activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to minimize risks on-site.

**Skills**
- Proficient in heavy equipment operation related to construction activities.
- Knowledge of traffic control procedures and safety regulations.
- Ability to pave and build effectively while adhering to project specifications.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with diverse groups including workers, drivers, and pedestrians.
- Excellent observational skills to identify potential hazards quickly.
