- Our Maple location is presently recruiting for a Payroll / Administrative Assistant to join our dynamic team of customer minded professionals. **Summary**
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for completing weekly payroll and where time allows, assisting with various HR related administrative tasks.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
- Full cycle weekly payroll for 220 employees using a time clock software and web-based payroll software (PayWorks). Implement and maintain Time and Attendance software
- Review employee timecards
- Verify earnings and process garnishments, retroactive-pay, taxable benefits and other adjustments
- Prepare ROE’s (Record of Employment) as needed
- Execute employee enrolments, wage increases, changes, deletions and terminations in the payroll system
- Prepare and manage seniority reports, vacation accrual percentages, and employee pay rate changes
- Payroll system and benefit plan updates
- Complete daily attendance
- Track employee vacation requests
- Process benefit enrollments
- Employee list management
- Filing
- Ensure compliance with government regulations
**Qualification Requirements**
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or ability required to successfully perform the job.
**_Education and/or experience_**
- Excellent computer skills - Excel, Word and Windows based software. Detailed and organized with ability to work well with mínimal supervision.
- OSSD, GED or ACE
- Minimum of 2 years of full cycle payroll administration experience (payroll of a minimum of 100 employees)
- Minimum 2 years of administrative experience
- Strong knowledge of payroll practices and procedures
- Previous experience administering payroll using automated time clock
**_Language Skills_**
- High standard of fluency in English for both oral and written correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
