General Labourer

**GENERAL LABOURER - THUNDER BAY, ON**

**Job purpose**

As a General Labourer, you will be responsible for completing manual labour activities around the site and performing your duties in a safe and efficient manner as directed by your supervisor. This is a summer position that will run from approximately May-September.

**Duties and responsibilities**

This role works closely with the Market Manager, Field Operations Manager and Service Technicians.
- Transport, deliver, set and prep propane tanks for hook-up at job sites
- Relocate, remove or pick up equipment as requested by Supervisor.
- Assist with loading and unloading of trucks and supplies.
- Assist with filling, handling, and painting propane cylinders.
- Assist with removing and installing decals on propane cylinders.
- Assist with installing and troubleshooting tank sensors.
- Assist Service Technicians and drivers as requested.
- Ensure all work is done in a safe and efficient manner.
- Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude.
- Comply with all Company standards, policies and procedures, including; Safety, Health and Environment Policies.
- Interact with customers and co-workers respectfully and in a manner that supports the company’s commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction.
- Other duties as required.

**Compensation**
- $18.00-$22.00 per hour based on experience.
- Eligible for paid vacation time.
- Eligible for Group Benefits plan and Group RRSP plan.

**Working schedule**
- The work schedule would consist of 5 shifts per week at 8 hours per day from 8:00 a.m.5:00 p.m.
- Long hours may be required during the busy seasons in order to meet operational needs.

**Qualifications**
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a General Labourer.
- Possess a Secondary school diploma.
- Possess a Valid G Class drivers’ licence.
- Driving record must not contain convictions of any disqualifying offenses.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment testing including drug and alcohol screening and physical.
- Ability to understand spoken and written instructions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
- Mental awareness to be able to work around potential hazards.
- Able to work in conditions of extreme cold or heat.
- Must have knowledge to able to use MSDS information sheets.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Ability to monitor material transfers.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods.
- Must be willing to work shift and/or work overtime hours during the week, weekends and/or holidays based on operational demands.
- Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor, keep required work. schedule, focus on attention to details and follow all rules and policies.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
