Job Title: Shop Associate

Location: Lunenburg, Nova Scotia

Employment Type: 25 - 35 hrs/week (Retail warehouse in Lunenburg and job sites (variable))

Shop Hours: Thursday - Saturday, 10am to 4 pm

Start Date: November 10th, 2025

Compensation: $ 24.00/hr

**Role**:
We are seeking a hands-on, organized and engaged individual to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Lunenburg retail warehouse, including processing inventory, managing customer sales and relationships, using our point-of-sale system, and leading material salvage jobs at building sites.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Open and close the shop; maintaining an organized and clean space.
- Manage physical inventory: receiving, processing, pricing and display of reclaimed material (doors, hardware, trim, lighting, etc.).
- Use Square POS to process transactions and generate monthly sales reports.
- Help customers find items, share advice for restoration/renovation projects.
- Create weekly social media posts highlighting new inventory, completed projects, or community events.
- Coordinate and perform salvage demolition jobs: carefully extract architectural items for new inventory, transport and process them for resale.
- Use and maintain hand and power tools safely and appropriately, including drills, saws, angle grinders, etc.
- Provide pick-up and drop-off service for customers.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience in building, whether construction, design or DIY.
- Prior experience in retail and small business or similar role preferred.
- Ability and willingness to perform physical tasks: lifting and moving materials (sometimes heavy/awkward), working at salvage sites, occasional travel for pickup/transport.
- Comfortable with using retail point of sale systems or willing to learn, basic knowledge with spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) and social-media platforms.
- Self-motivated, organized, flexible and able to balance varied retail, administrative and labour responsibilities.
- Valid driver’s licence
- Please note any construction safety or construction trades training
