The Opportunity

Vermilion Energy has an exciting opportunity within the Canadian Business Unit(CBU), seeking a Supply Chain Management Specialist. Based in Calgary AB, this role will report directly to the Director of Canadian Field Operations and be an integral part of the Calgary Business Unit CBU. The Contracts & Procurement Specialist will be responsible for supporting the North American business by developing, implementing and administering a targeted procurement program. This will include working with Vermilion Business Unit leaders to develop contracts and procurement strategies that add value. You will deliver annual targeted cost savings with your strong negotiation skills while ensuring continuity of supply. To achieved this, you will have to identify alternative innovate sourcing and negotiation strategies across many material, equipment and services suppliers. You will have proven success in the ability to be flexible, adapt to change and work with a wide range of supplier and contracting types.

What you will do
- Develop and maintain contract strategies for major spend areas which may include Operations, Maintenance, Drilling, Completions, Facility Projects and Reclamation
- Develop and maintain Request For Information/Request For Proposal (RFI/RFP) and strategy templates
- Maintain schedule of major contracts portfolio
- Develop and implement innovative and effective pricing models within multi-discipline contracts /agreements
- Lead RFI/RFP activities for major spend, provide guidance / training to individuals for other spend
- Prepare tender documentation and lead evaluations
- Provide Business Unit with up-to-date market conditions/trends, key risk areas, opportunities and solutions
- Work with Business Unit leaders to understand and support annual work plans
- Work with Business Unit leaders, suppliers and stakeholders to increase value
- Preparing recommendation reports for approval
- Develop and maintain Contracts & Procurement Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
- Key contact for global procurement strategies and initiatives
- Provide support with respect to management and disposal of Surplus Equipment and Materials
- Monitor Opex and Capex spend types and provide recommendations that leverage spend
- Provide support to Finance Team on budget building, cost trending and monthly / quarterly updates

What you will bring
- 10+ years of relevant industry experience
- Possess a thorough knowledge of Exploration & Production (E&P) material and service requirements
- Relevant Professional Qualifications
- Proven and demonstrated commitment to adding value
- Able to work with a team in high paced environment and set priorities
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proven experience in multi-disciplinary Procurement activities
- A forward planner who identifies and manages their own work plan
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to quickly build relationships with relevant parties
