**PSA Halifax **is recruiting for a Data Analyst. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a highly successful and leading container terminal in the East Coast of Canada. The position offers a competitive salary with annual performance-based incentives, medical benefits for individual and family, contributive pension benefits, and opportunities for training and development. **Data Analyst Key Deliverables**: - Manage our master data set developing reports and troubleshooting data issues. - Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports - Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality - Acquire data from primary and/or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems - Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets - Filter and "clean" data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems - Prioritize business and information needs - Locate and define new process improvement opportunities **Qualifications Required**: - Experience as a data analyst, and a deep understanding of the popular data analysis tools and database - Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques - Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc), programming/using ETL frameworks and languages - Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc) - Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy **Compensation**: This is a full-time, permanent salaried position with an attractive benefits package. **How to Apply**: If interested in applying, please submit cover letter with salary expectation and resume to: **_ PSA Halifax is an equal opportunity employer._
