In this vital role, you'll work closely with our institutional portfolio managers and affiliate compliance officers to navigate the increasingly complex and important world of compliance. **What You Will Be Doing**
As the Manager of our Portfolio Compliance Team, you will play a key role in overseeing and enhancing our compliance processes, ensuring adherence to regulations, and managing a team of compliance analysts. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape and drive compliance strategy while working closely with key stakeholders across the organization to mitigate risks and promote operational excellence.
- Oversight of the day-to-day functions of the team including compliance test setup, compliance monitoring and compliance reporting. Compliance rules are developed in Charles River and are derived from client mandates, global regulations, firm-wide guidelines, and industry best practices.
- Managing and providing guidance, instruction, and direction to compliance analysts on the team, including hiring, training, performance reviews, and goal setting.
- Implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving portfolio compliance-related procedures and controls.
- Collaborating with various business groups within the company (portfolio management, operations, legal) and working with them to develop new compliance initiatives.
- Work closely with other CC&L FG managers to coordinate project resources and timelines.
- Promote a risk-intelligent mindset within the Portfolio Compliance team and throughout the company.
- Support the management team on strategic initiatives and development of the company and the team.
- Taking a lead role in projects that vary in scope and size.
**About You**
- **Leadership **- You thrive in a current leadership role and have been in that role for at least three years. As a leader, you foster a supportive and high-performing environment.
- **Industry Knowledge** - You have 10 years or more experience in Asset Management performing a portfolio compliance function.
- **Academic Background **- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/ finance or any relevant field is preferred. CFA certification is an asset.
- **Risk Intelligent mindset** - You have a deep understanding of portfolio compliance and its role within a broader risk management framework.
- **A passion for Operational Excellence** - You display a professional attitude where attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness are critical success factors in achieving your goals and objectives.
- **Critical Thinking** - You possess an analytical mindset and like to solve problems.
- **Curiosity** - You are inquisitive and are not afraid to ask questions.
- **Collaborative Communication** - You communicate effectively and have a collaborative spirit that helps you work well with others.
- **Project Management** - You have strong project management skills.
- **Technology Savvy** - You can pick up new systems and tools quickly. You have advanced computer skills with an emphasis on MS Excel. Charles River or Bloomberg experience is an asset.
