Job description The working foreman will lead the construction crew including locator, directional driller, general labourers, fibre splicers and vactruck operators on telecom construction projects. This is a unionized position. FusionTech is recruiting for Mono County area but work can be anywhere construction projects are located. The foreman is responsible for their own commute to and from the project area. The Leahand is responsible to: 1. Provide direction, and oversee construction crews. Also required to assist in the field as required. 2. Review and prepare all documentation required on all construction jobs, projects and daily work. This includes obtaining utility locate requests. 3. Review all drawings, maps, locates to determine work requirements, planned methods of work and necessary tools and equipment. Ensure that all work is completed as per client request and meet FusionTech job standards. 4. Co-ordinate with staff to determine equipment that is required and ensure that tools, equipment and materials are ready for the project and daily tasks. The Foreman is responsible for ensuring the staff and resources are utilized effectively. 5. Provide training to staff as required. 6. Responsible for health and safety and associated paperwork at the job site. 7. Ensure compliance with FusionTech policies and procedures. 8. Handle issues as they arise on the job site and act on behalf of FusionTech with community or client inquiries. **Qualifications**: 1. Valid "G" licence in good standing. 2. Five years experience in a leadhand position in a construction setting. 3. Demonstrated effective communication skills. 4. Demonstrated customer service and leadership skills. 5. Strong planning, organizational and problem solving skills. 6. Proficient with computer office software. 7. Experience in telecommunications plant construction projects in a leadership role. These projects must include under ground, burial and aerial plant. 8. Must be able to work in all types of weather. 9.
