The incumbent works in a team and is responsible for providing actuarial support to clients.
**Responsibilities**:
- Performs data reconciliations, benefit calculations, asset summaries and contribution requirements;
- Receives and responds to routine plan enquiries and requests from clients;
- Supports the relationship between clients and other members of the consulting team;
- Takes direction from, and supports, senior team members;
- Attends internal training sessions to build knowledge of industry topics and trends;
- Assists with special projects and tasks, as required;
- Works with databases and LifeWorks internal software/systems;
- Manages data validations, data handling through use of data software tools;
- Runs data queries and analyzes data;
- Performs basic actuarial calculations.
Succeeding as an Actuarial Analyst will require the following core qualifications and skills:
- University degree;
- 0-2 years of related experience
- Successful completion of one or more Society of Actuaries exams is an asset;
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills;
- Exceptional customer focus with strong professional acumen;
- Excellent communication and organizational skills;
- Dedicated team player, who demonstrates initiative, and independence;
- A good understanding of personal computers and software, particularly MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- Experience with defined benefit or defined contribution pension plans or insurance programs an asset;
- Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
