**Job Purpose**

**FIELD AND SHOP POSITION**

**Duties & Responsibilities**

**1.** **Prep for Coatings**

Responsible for preparing the substrate for coating

1.1 Ensure substrate is the one specified in the Inspection Test Plan (ITP)

1.2 Investigate items for deficiencies and complete surface prep report

1.3 Perform surface preparation inspections on blast surface - requires NACE inspection

1.4 Perform basic surface preparation - solvent wiping, hand tool and power tool

1.5 Analyze and identify substrate to required specification as per ITP

1.6 Estimate the amount of material to coat the structure

**2.** **Blasting**

Responsible for performing abrasive blasting

2.1Ensure blast media is properly stored

2.2 Perform the inspections and tests on blast equipment - blotter, checking hoses, etc

2.3 Responsible for basic compressor functions - operation, maintenance and troubleshooting

2.4 Ensure blast media will meet surface profile need for coating system

2.5 Blast substrate to specific condition

2.6 Visually inspect blast and complete touch ups before next NACE inspection

**3.** **Coating**

3.1 Ensure coatings are stored in an appropriate environment - consulting the SDS

3.2 Perform the basic coating pump functions - operation, maintenance and troubleshooting

3.5 Identify coating failures and possible remedies

**4.** **Other - Safety**

Responsible for following all safety procedures at SCS

4.1 Ensure all inspections forms are completed properly

4.2 Ensure all safety policies are being followed

4.3 Able to safely drive company vehicles

4.4 Able to safely operate compressors

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $25.00-$40.00 per hour

- Night shift
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

**Experience**:

- Industrial Sandblasting/Painting: 1 year (required)
