**Responsibilities**

This position is responsible for purchasing and receiving lumber and building materials for our two locations. They will be working closely with the LBM purchasing manager to prioritize and create timely purchase orders. As well, they will work closely with the yard foreman to receive and ensure accuracy for incoming shipments.
- Maintain adequate inventory levels through daily purchasing
- Analyzing sales trends and adjusting system parameters to ensure consistent levels of inventory.
- Communicate regularly with vendor direct suppliers.
- Liaise with your Manager to advise/suggest new products, alternative sources, process improvements and inventory adjustments.
- Oversee the receiving of shipments and ensure accuracy. Work with vendors to correct any issues.
- Utilize the forklift to receive larger shipments
- Work with the inventory control specialist to cycle count sections within the lumber division to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Help with other tasks as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- Prior experience with purchasing preferred
- Prior experience with receiving preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Able to lift/carry large and heavy items up to 90lbs.
- Strong time management skills
- Prior experience operating a forklift preferred.
