**Direct Support Professionals/Developmental Services Worker (North York)**

Currently we have **two positions** available to work with a young female adult. Location is on Don Mills and Finch, Toronto area.

**Position Objective**

The Direct Support Professional/Developmental Services Worker are responsible for providing the support and information via a total communication approach to the individual.

**Client Information**

The individual is a young female adult that you will support currently enjoys an active lifestyle in the community, including both indoor and outdoor activities.

**Responsibilities**:

- _**Personal care and medication administration**_ _**is required**_.
- Responsible for providing on-going support in the home and the community.
- Encourages individual to make meaningful choices on a daily basis.
- Uses total communication techniques to relay the information to the individual.
- The Support Worker provides input and participates in the overall program development.
- Provides a level of support that ensures that the individual is successful in all aspects of daily living and development of life skills. Ability to adapt to the needs of the individual.
- Follows established medical/health routines and ensures safety requirements are met.
- Ensures accurate documentation of shift activities, medication, medical records, etc.
- Position requires critical thinking abilities regarding day-to-day program activities. Demonstrates a positive and professional relationship with the team**.**

**Education and Related Experience**
- Completion or working towards a college diploma or certificate in Developmental Services Worker (DSW), Community Services Worker (CSW), Child and Youth Worker (CYW) or from the field of Social/Behavioural Sciences.
- First Aid/CPR certification required. Valid Vulnerable Persons Police Clearance. Acceptable proof of full COVID 19 vaccination must be provided.
- Adapted Sign Language training provided.
- Required Computer Skills, Microsoft Word and Basic Excel

**Job Type**: Part-time

Expected hours: 40 per week

Flexible language requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Night shift
- Weekends as needed

**Education**:

- DCS / DEC (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- License Gi (preferred)

Work Location: In person
