- I Have A Chance Support Services Ltd. is seeking a dedicated and skilled Addiction Counselor to join our expanding multidisciplinary team. In this vital role, you will provide face-to-face counseling and support to individuals navigating the challenges of addiction and recovery. Utilizing evidence-based interventions, you will develop personalized treatment plans, facilitate individual and group counseling sessions, and empower clients to build effective coping mechanisms and resilience. **Job type: Full-time**

**Compensation: $30 - $35**

**Shift & Schedule: Monday to Thursday 8:30 am to 4:00 pm - Friday 8:30 am to 2:30 pm. Additional hours may be needed.**

**Location: Stony plain, AB.**

**Position Summary**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Conduct thorough assessments to identify addiction-related challenges and co-occurring issues.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address the unique needs of each client.
- Provide one-on-one counseling and group therapy sessions to address the emotional, psychological, and behavioral aspects of addiction.
- Educate clients on coping strategies, stress management techniques, and relapse prevention.
- Coordinate care among service providers to ensure clients receive holistic and continuous support.
- Assist clients in accessing resources such as employment services, medical care, and housing support.
- Advocate on behalf of clients to remove barriers to their recovery journey.
- Monitor client progress and adjust care plans as needed to reflect evolving circumstances.
- Collaborate with other team members to integrate addiction counseling into broader mental health and wellness programs.
- Contribute to program development by identifying and implementing best practices in addiction treatment.
- Participate in case reviews, team meetings, and professional development initiatives.
- Build relationships with community organizations and stakeholders to expand support networks for clients.
- Engage in outreach activities to promote awareness of addiction services and harm reduction principles.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, documenting assessment findings, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant information.
- Adhere to legal and ethical standards of confidentiality and privacy in all documentation practices.
