**Title**:
**Farm Hand**

**Your role**:
Assist the farm manager/owner with all aspects of day to day running of a multifaceted, innovative and vertically integrated farm in Yarrow, BC.

Your tasks will be:

- Poultry operation - Setup and cleanout of barns, daily health checks of flock, daily system and environmental checks of barns.
- Hop growing operation - Spraying, tillage, trellis maintenance and construction, propagation and planting, harvest and hop drying, IPM and plant health checks
- Hop harvesting - help supervise seasonal staff as they harvest, run processing and drying equipment
- Hop processing - Running pellet mill and packaging systems
- General - Maintain tidy work areas, cleaning and maintenance of equipment. Work with Food Safety, biosecurity, animal welfare and environmental programs

**You have experience in**:

- Working with plants and animals
- Operating equipment (tractors, sprayers, skidsteers and forklifts)
- Operating a pickup truck with trailers
- Basic mechanical and construction skills

**You are educated in**:
Relevant Agricultural diplomas or certificates (Livestock, horticulture, IPM), or equivalent experience.

- Enjoy a wide variety of tasks
- Action-oriented, and able to work as part of a team and unsupervised

**Salary**: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

- DCS / DEC (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Agriculture: 2 years (preferred)
