District Manager- Burger King
**About Us**
We are a growing Burger King franchise group in Ontario and Manitoba, with a mission to deliver **perfectly prepared, delicious food, exceptional service, and a workplace culture that puts people first**. Our success depends on **operational excellence, financial performance, and the strength of our teams**.
We are looking for a **District Manager** who combines **strategic business acumen with empathy and hands-on leadership**—the kind of person who can drive results while developing high-performing, engaged teams.
**Role Overview**
The District Manager is a **critical growth driver** for our franchise. You will oversee multiple Burger King locations, ensuring every restaurant consistently meets **brand standards, financial targets, and operational KPIs**, while fostering a culture of accountability, development, and care.
This is not a role that lives behind a desk—you will be **inside the restaurants**, coaching managers, connecting with team members, meeting guests, and setting the tone for operational excellence. You will also need to be comfortable with extensive travel, including long drives, overnight hotel stays, and occasional flights, as you represent the franchise and the brand across Ontario and Manitoba.
**Key Responsibilities**
**1. Operational Excellence & Brand Compliance**
- Ensure each location meets or exceeds Burger King standards for food quality, service, cleanliness, and speed.
- Enforce strict food safety, health, and sanitation protocols to protect employees and customers.
- Implement and monitor corporate initiatives, promotions, and operational improvements consistently across all stores.
- Maintain a regular **in-restaurant presence**, leading by example and ensuring standards are lived out daily.
**2. Financial & Business Performance**
- Drive profitable growth through sales, labor, and cost management.
- Analyze P&L statements and key financial metrics for each location; develop actionable strategies to maximize profitability.
- Track and manage labor %, food %, waste, and operational efficiencies across all stores.
**3. People Leadership & Development**
- Lead with empathy, coaching, mentoring, and supporting restaurant managers to grow as leaders.
- Champion a **positive workplace culture** that values employee engagement, development, and retention.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training to build strong, motivated teams.
- Build trust with restaurant teams by being present, accessible, and approachable in the restaurants.
- Work with each Restaurant General Manager (RGM) to build staffing levels that support smooth operations, including cross-training team members across positions.
- Ensure every restaurant develops an Assistant Manager capable of stepping up to RGM-level, creating a **strong pipeline of future leaders**.
**4. Performance Monitoring & Accountability**
- Track and improve core operational KPIs
- Sales growth and revenue targets
- Labor cost % of sales
- Food cost % of sales
- Speed of service / drive-thru times
- Customer satisfaction / mystery shopper scores
- Store audit and compliance scores
- Waste, shrinkage, and operational efficiency
- Conduct regular site visits, audits, and performance reviews to ensure accountability, consistency, and continuous improvement.
**5. Strategic Growth**
- Identify underperforming stores and implement action plans to elevate performance.
- Share best practices across the district to standardize high-performance operations.
- Collaborate with franchise leadership on long-term growth strategies, store expansions, and operational innovations.
**Qualifications**
- 5+ years of multi-unit QSR experience, preferably in Burger King, McDonald’s, or a comparable brand.
- Proven success in driving operational excellence, financial results, and employee engagement.
- Strong understanding of P&L, labor management, inventory control, and operational KPIs.
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable with **extensive travel**: long drives, overnight hotel stays, and occasional flights.
- Ability to be **on-site in restaurants**, engaging with guests and staff face-to-face.
- Passion for building high-performing teams and achieving results without compromising people or culture.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Benefits**

- Dental care
- Discounted or free food
- Extended health care
- Life insurance
- On-site parking
- Paid time off
- RRSP match
