**About the Job**

Highlights of the Budtender role:

- Exude an outgoing, warm, friendly, natural, helpful, generous and welcoming disposition to customers that makes them want to come back
- Educate customers about cannabis and how to consume responsibly
- Help customers choose appropriate products based on their needs, preferences, requests and budgets
- Be a strong, competent salesperson meeting both individual and business goals
- Build long-term, happy customer relationships
- Incorporate knowledge of business performance and targets into daily activities
- Troubleshoot customer, retail + POS questions/issues
- Proactively clean, tidy, organize, maintain or improve the store whenever needed
- Support back-of-house operations (e.g. inventory, marketing, merchandising, supplier relationships, budgeting, H&S) as requested
- Be actively involved in supporting team product knowledge
- Take on and be responsible for special projects as assigned
- Always be active and working “on” the store if there are no customers “in” the store (this is not the type of retail job where work stops in between customers)
- Maintaining a high awareness of the store’s dynamic menu and contributing actively to the team’s learning of our products too
- Proactively learning new products, trends and developments in the cannabis industry at large
- Should you want to be promoted to Keyholder, highlights of the Keyholder role include the Budtender role, plus:

- Open/close store, including cashing-in and cashing-out
- Often act as the most senior person on duty, making important decisions about problem-solving, customer inquiries, returns, tricky situations and the regulations that govern our beloved controlled substance
- Always be active and keep the rest of the team active/progressing their responsibilities - we’re a busy store there’s no “downtime” in between customers

**Requirements**:

- Strong demonstrated sales or customer service experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of cannabis, the industry and legal cannabis products/accessories
- High school diploma
- Regular (daily) access to a mobile phone
- Fast, reliable transportation/access to the store
- A current CanSell certification + clean background check before starting work
- 2+ years of professional experience between customer service and retail roles
- Being computer and tech-savvy
- Being a strong, friendly, personable and wonderful conversationalist with strangers (extroversion tendencies are a must), with a natural instinct for reading people

**Wage**

$16.50 - $19.50 / hr, based on experience

**Salary**: $17.00-$19.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
