**What it’s like to be a Northbridge Director, Underwriting - Small Business**

As Director of Underwriting for our Small Business segment, you’ll lead a dynamic team focused on delivering efficient, profitable, and scalable underwriting solutions tailored to the unique needs of small businesses across Canada.

This is a role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, enjoys building strong broker relationships, and is passionate about developing talent and driving operational excellence. You’ll be responsible for ensuring your unit operates at peak efficiency and profitability while aligning with corporate and regional goals.

Our Directors are empowered to lead with insight, supported by data, and driven by purpose. You’ll have the autonomy to shape strategy, the tools to innovate, and the platform to make a real impact.

**If you are great at**:

- Leading high-performing underwriting teams in a fast-paced, small business environment
- Driving operational efficiency and underwriting profitability
- Building strong broker relationships and negotiating win-win solutions
- Using data and analytics to inform decisions and optimize performance
- Enhancing underwriting processes and ensuring compliance with national standards
- Coaching and mentoring underwriters to grow their technical and leadership skills

**And you have**:

- 10+ years of experience in the property and casualty insurance industry
- 5+ years in a leadership role, ideally within small business or high-volume underwriting
- A strategic mindset with a hands-on, collaborative leadership style
- A deep understanding of underwriting philosophy, pricing models, and portfolio management

Salary range for Vancouver, BC is $125,000 - $150,000.
