Cmm Operator

**Reports To**

Shop Foreman

**Job Summary**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Operate and maintain **Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)** to inspect and measure automotive molds and mold components.
- Interpret **blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications** to ensure parts conform to design requirements.
- Conduct **first article inspections**, in-process inspections, and **final product inspections**.
- Perform **dimensional analysis** of mold parts, checking for tolerances, surface finishes, and any other critical measurements.
- Ensure the proper calibration and functionality of CMM machines, performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting when necessary.
- Document and maintain accurate inspection records and measurement reports.
- Work closely with **quality control**, **engineering**, and **production teams** to resolve any issues related to mold accuracy or manufacturing defects.
- Review **non-conformance reports** and recommend corrective actions for quality improvements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while adhering to company safety standards.
- Follow all **ISO standards** and company-specific procedures to ensure product consistency and quality.
- Stay current with industry best practices and technological advancements in CMM operation and automotive mold manufacturing.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven experience as a **CMM Operator** in a manufacturing or automotive mold environment.
- Strong knowledge of **CMM software** and **measurement techniques**. Experience with Cimatron is an asset.
- Ability to interpret and read **technical drawings, schematics**, and **CAD models**.
- Solid understanding of **geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)**.
- Familiarity with **quality control standards**, including **ISO 9001**.
- Ability to work with tight tolerances and high-quality standards in an automotive mold production environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet production deadlines.

**Education**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in mold making, machining, or a related field is a plus.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience with operating overhead crane required.
- Ability to focus and work with precision in a fast-paced environment to meet critical deadlines.

**Salary Range**
- $24-32/hr
- Overtime after 40 hours
