**Responsibilities**
- Provides group information sessions for newcomer families/youth and teachers to augment their integration process both in-person and virtually (Zoom, Google meet etc.)
- Recruit, train and supervise volunteers and youth for community connections

**Activities**
- Provides referrals linking clients with specific settlement needs to available resources in the community.
- Contribute to all work and school based planning teams related to families/youth, work cooperatively and professionally with all internal and external stakeholders
- Participate in relevant committees and meetings as assigned
- Create and deliver in-school, community, March break and summer programming for newcomer youth ages 13 to 29 in the Halton Region
- Meet & liaise with both Settlement teams to encourage referrals to the Youth Program
- Summer/ March Break Students
- Responsible for supervising of summer/ March Break students
- Conduct outreach and information sessions for schools and other community agencies
- Maintain appropriate records for clients and finance, write reports, appropriately manage money and track all expenditures; Keep track of the number of clients and volunteers served and generate monthly stats and narrative reports; create outreach material (flyers, brochures);
- Other duties as may be required.

**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary education in the field of Social Services/Youth services and/or two years’ experience working or volunteering with families and/ or youth;
- Able to relate to newcomer families/youth and has an understanding of the unique experiences of newcomer families/youth and the process of integration;
- Self-motivated, creative, and high energy; able to work independently and within a team context;
- Excellent problem solving skills with strong verbal and written communications;
- Excellent organizational and computer skills;
- Knowledge of group process and facilitation techniques;
- An ability to work as part of an effective team with other program staff, committee members, community members and other community professionals;
- A valid police clearance with vulnerable sector screening;
- Experience working with clients, ethno-racial groups and community;
- Must have a clean driving record and access to a reliable car as there will be local travel.
- For this posting, fluency in a second language is an asset.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $32.11 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
