**About the Opportunity**:
The Manager is responsible for the overall efficiency and effectiveness of NSHA Anaesthesia and Perfusion Services for the Halifax Infirmary and VG Sites within the Central Zone. In addition, he/she is responsible for the daily operation and leadership of:

- Perfusionists
- Anaesthesia Technologists
- Anesthesia Assistants in the VG and HI Perioperative Services areas

The Manager is accountable to both the Director of Perioperative Services and a co-accountability to the Head of the Department of Anaesthesia, and the Head of the Department of Cardiac Surgery.

The Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing and administering Anaesthesia and Perfusion Services for NSHA (Halifax Infirmary and VG sites) in collaboration with the Head of Department of Anesthesia, and Cardiac Surgery as well as the Director of Perioperative Care. The Manager will be responsible for administration, department and capital budgeting and planning, program development and quality assurance in his/her respective area.

**About You**:

- Undergraduate degree in a related health discipline
- Master’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a leadership position
- Registration with a relevant health discipline college/association
- Strong collaboration skills with internal and external departments/teams
- Strong knowledge of quality improvement and associated metrics
- General knowledge and understanding of issues and trends impacting the field of anesthesia and cardiovascular perfusion
- Technical awareness or expertise regarding critical care equipment and supplies
- Knowledge of current evidence based practice, theory and research related to Anaesthesia and Perfusion Services and its management
- Strong leadership skills (including the ability to lead, facilitate and sustain change initiatives)
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong negotiation, conflict resolution and rapport-building skills
- Ability to work well with mínimal supervision, as well as within a multidisciplinary team environment

**Compensation and Incentives**:
$46.53- $61.83 Hourly
