What You’ll Do
**Hands-On Operations (50%)** - Actively oversee and participate in daily operations, including field and dome set-up, tear-down, and event turnover. Inspect, maintain, and repair the turf, dome, nets, and facility equipment. Support preventative maintenance and safety checks. Work directly with Facility Attendants to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operations.
**Administration & Leadership (50%)** - Recruit, train, schedule, and mentor Facility Attendants. Manage budgets, inventory, vendor relations, and projects. Maintain safety protocols, training programs, and operational manuals. Track attendance and facility usage to inform reporting and decision-making. Represent Benchmark Projects and SHWSD with user groups, the public, and the Calgary Minor Soccer Association.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of leadership experience in recreation or facility management.
- Post-secondary education in Recreation Management, Business Administration, or related discipline—or equivalent experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with diverse teams and community partners.
- A leader comfortable being both hands-on in operations and responsible for administrative oversight.

Full Job Description - Facility Manager (SHWSD)
**Position Overview**:
The Facility Manager of Shane Homes West Soccer Dome (SHWSD) is a hands-on leader responsible for overseeing daily operations and maintenance of the FIFA-sized field, air-supported dome, and associated amenities. This includes working directly on the field and facility floor while managing staff, reporting, scheduling, and compliance. The Facility Manager supports Benchmark Projects Ltd. and the Calgary Minor Soccer Association by ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality operations.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Hands-On Operations (50%)** - Lead and participate in daily facility operations including field conversions, set-up, and tear-down. Monitor and maintain the turf, dome, nets, and equipment. Conduct safety inspections, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs. Support contractors and vendors during maintenance and repair work. Provide visible leadership at the facility, ensuring service excellence.
**Administration & Leadership (50%)** - Recruit, train, schedule, and evaluate Facility Attendants. Manage inventory, vendor coordination, and procurement of supplies and equipment. Develop and implement training programs for staff on safety, customer service, and operational protocols. Oversee staff, reports, projects, and lifecycle planning. Update and maintain operational manuals and emergency procedures. Track attendance and facility usage, preparing reports for the Executive Director of Calgary Minor Soccer Association. Serve as a representative of Benchmark Projects, fostering strong relationships with staff, user groups, and community stakeholders.
**Qualifications**: Minimum 5 years’ leadership and supervisory experience in recreation or facility management. Post-secondary degree/diploma in Recreation Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience). Demonstrated ability to manage both administrative responsibilities and hands-on facility operations. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Experience with budgets, scheduling, and project coordination.
