Linx Underwriting Solutions is an underwriting agency, and a wholly owned subsidiary of Aon Canada.We specialize in underwriting industry-specific and product-specific solutions which are tailored for the needs of the Canadian market and our brokers.Linx acts as Managing General Agent (MGA) for domestic carriers and Lloyd's syndicates, and are authorized to transact insurance business under Delegated Authorities.We provide a wide variety of insurance program offerings and continue to evolve our offerings. As part of our team at Linx, you will help empower results by delivering innovative and effective solutions. Linx currently has offices in Toronto, Montreal and Calgary and offers hybrid working. As a Construction Underwriter, you will underwrite a variety builders risk and wrap up policy extensions, along with some smaller new projects.You will work along side a close-knit team of construction underwriters and see the impact of your input daily. Job Responsibilities:Underwriting of Builders Risk and Wrap Up liability policies and extensions.Analyze new business and project extensions and provide terms based upon our underwriting guidelines. Develop underwriting proposals for accounts which may fall outside underwriting authority.Negotiate terms, conditions and pricing within the parameters of our program underwriting guidelines/authorities.Identify opportunities to upsell coverage, limits or products.Main high level of service with your customer service focus and solutions-orientated approachBuild a network of relationships with our brokers and our various marketsAssisting with training of more junior team membersKeep current on industry and markets trends and share with your knowledge Required Experience:Experience handling/underwriting builders' risk and/or wrap up liability policies.Experience handling/underwriting commercial P&C insurance in the contracting sector is an assetAn existing underwriting skillsetExperience working in an MGA is an assetDetail oriented professional, with strong analytical, decision making and negotiation skillsInnovative and creative problem solvingStrong communicate skills - both written and verbal.Excellent interpersonal skillsGood time management and organizational skillsAbility to multi-task in a fast paced and time sensitive environmentAbility to work well independently and also collaborate as part of a bigger teamUnderstands the time sensitivity of the project construction market.Team playerProficient in MS Excel and Outlook.
