Job Overview:
All Critters Animal Hospital in Surrey, BC is looking for a Locum for a permanent part-time position with us. We are looking to hire a team member comfortable with all manner of species as we do treat companion animals as well as some exotics.
Our hospital is fully equipped with up-to-date digital X-ray system, Class 4 Companion Duo laser therapy, a full Idexx Vetlab station, dental equipment, digital radiograph equipment for both dental and full body imaging, and full surgical suite. We utilize Cornerstone in clinic, so some knowledge of this program would be beneficial.
**Responsibilities**:
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals, including physical examinations, diagnostic tests, and medical histories.
- Diagnose and treat various medical conditions, injuries, and diseases in animals.
- Perform surgical procedures as needed, including spaying/neutering, tumor removals, cystotomies, foreign body removals and various other procedures.
- Prescribe medications and treatments to the patients.
- Provide vaccinations and preventive care to maintain the health of our patients.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, oral care, and disease prevention.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure efficient workflow and quality patient care.
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school
- Valid state veterinary license in good standing
- Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and diseases
- Experience in laboratory procedures for diagnosing illnesses in animals
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Compassionate nature and genuine love for animals
