HOUSEKEEPING & LAUNDRY AIDE - Extendicare

As a valued member of our housekeeping and maintenance team, you will provide clean and safe environment to residents as well as staff in accordance with policies, procedures and work routines.
- This position is for our Laurier Manor Home, located in 1715 Montreal Rd, Ottawa, Ontario.
- Available opportunities include: Casual; Days/Evening and Weekends

Shifts defined: Days, 7:00-15:00, Evenings 13:00-21:00, Weekends - Saturday and Sunday

What you’ll be doingAdheres to established company policies and procedures regarding infection prevention and control, quality assurance, fire, and safety etc.-
- Participates in staff meetings as assigned, attends in service education programs and completes all mandatory education as assigned.-
- Collaborates with other departments in such tasks as transferring residents, moving, ordering and storing supplies, ordering/maintenance/distribution of furniture and equipment etc.-
- As a Housekeeper; using specified cleaning/disinfecting/sanitizing agents, and following specific procedures, work patterns, and routines, performs tasks such as;-
- Vacuuming, sweeping, dry/wet mopping, scrubbing, sanitizing/disinfecting floors; spot cleaning walls, windows and doors, dusting, rearranging furniture, removing waste;-
- daily cleaning and disinfecting of resident rooms; cleaning floors, fixtures and furnishings in rooms, kitchen, closets; may also include heavy cleaning duties such as deep cleaning.-
- As a Laundry Aide, operating industrial washing machines and dryers to maintain a continual supply of quality linen for the home. Handling, folding, hanging, and checking quality of linen supplies. Washing, labeling & organizing personal clothing-
- Ensure privacy of residents during performance of duties.What you bringComfortable handing considerable heavy lifting, reaching, squatting, kneeling, crouching and moving equipment, climbing ladders and exposure to biochemical agents and wet floors.-
- Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures.-
