**Team Manager
- Technical Communication**
The Technical Communication team is Genvid's client-facing enabler for technical topics.
From first-line direct support to documentation, publication and localization, the TechComm team covers the whole communication around the technical aspects of our ever evolving products.
The Team Manager
- Technical Communication will help the team formulate and implement the Documentation, Localization and Publication strategies but also establish the mission and goals to implement those strategies.
A close collaboration with Product Managers and Software Developers will allow you to guide your team in turning product specifications into reference manuals that end-users can read and understand. The Technical Communication Manager will also help the team members develop their skills and careers through mentoring and coaching as well as with regular feedback. The Technical Communications Manager also ensures that the support flow is fluid, including escalation of issues to Development teams when required.
Reporting to the SDK Technical Director, The Team Manager for Technical Communication tasks and duties are the following, but are not limited to:
- Establish and update the mission and goals for the Technical Communications team
- Lead the creation of Technical Communications
- Monitor client support and escalate to Development Teams if required
- Develop the skills and careers of their team members, through mentoring and coaching
- Track and report documentation progress
- Periodic performance reviews of all team members
Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in communication or related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- 5+ years of experience developing and maintaining documentation for a software company.
- 5+ years of experience in technical writing and localization.
- 3+ years of Leadership/Management experience.
- 5+ years of Agile/Scrum Experience
- 1+ year(s) of experience in gaming, multimedia and/or web service industry
Assets:
- Knowledge and experience of cloud providers like AWS, Azure and GCE
- Experience with Atlassian Jira
- Creative problem-solving capabilities
- Demonstrated success autonomously managing complex projects that require input from many stakeholders
- Front-line support or Community Management experience
- Strong business acumen
- Track record of on time delivery on commitments in a collaborative mindset
- Start-up Experience
