**Location**: Storytelling Toronto office, at the Wychwood Barns, 601 Christie Street, Studio 173.
**Duration**: 12-month contract with strong possibility for renewal. A 3-month probationary period applies.

The Arts Administrator’s work demonstrates a positive outlook as to the importance of the Arts behind Storytelling Toronto, a non-profit Toronto Arts organization that emerged from the original Toronto School of Storytelling, in 1979. This position is to ensure the smooth running of the office, with timely responses to all enquiries, and to actively support increasing performance opportunities, membership and event registrations for storytellers.
This role ensures our membership of storytellers remain connected and have access to accurate, up to date information for their artistic practices. It is vital to Storytelling Toronto’s mandate to elevate the art of oral storytelling with professional support for artists, outreach to diverse communities and enrichment activities for the public as story listeners.
**Before you read further, you’ll need to have**
- Proven ability to independently and efficiently manage multiple tasks and timelines
- Confident decision-making and collaboration skills when working with others
- Proficiency in digital content creation (such as Canva, Adobe, Zoom, Google Workspace, MailChimp, Survey Monkey, Online Ticketing Platforms ) including web content (Wild Apricot) and social media platforms (Instagram, Linkedin, Meta, X)
- Experience with artists on logistics such as, booking venues and promoting events
- Experience with software for ticket sales and membership
- Positive interpersonal skills communicating through computer, phone and in person
- Fluent oral and written English; proficiency in other languages, an asset
- Experience in practices of inclusion in all aspects of engagement
1) Member Engagement to
- Maintain procedures for membership registration and renewal with follow up as needed
- Actively rebuild and welcome interest in membership subscription and renewal
- Maintain and update the website
- Strengthen procedures to collect and archive all STT activities using Google workspace
- Create communications about and provide administrative support for all STT activities
- Improve procedures for documenting contributions of all volunteers and donors
- Organize the collection of relevant statistics specific to CADAC data
- Book venues and schedule Zoom meetings for storytelling events
2) Public Engagement to
- Provide first point of contact in a professional, timely manner on all inquiries
- Organize the office with supplies in place following an office budget
- Publish STT activity news as submitted for social media, press and membership updates
- Ensure criteria by each funder is consistently followed, such as use of logos, credits etc.
- Manage event registrations, cancellations and refunds
- Follow procedures on received cheques/cash collected for STT activities
- Manage charitable donations through PayPal and Canadahelps
3) Board Engagement to
- Support Board monthly meetings with posting the agenda, reminders, and taking minutes
- Ensure new staff and volunteers receive an orientation package and follow up supports
- Track staff/artists/volunteers to complete HR training modules and send in signed contracts
- Prepare AGM documentation and send out required notification to membership
- Attend the AGM and keep attendance and draft minutes for the Board
- Coordinate scheduling of online and in office use for all STT meetings
- Manage office landline and voice messaging and secure cloud storage
And to manage other tasks as requested or personally initiated and approved within monthly hours or negotiated as a special task with added hours/flex hours, such as before and during the annual Storytelling Toronto Festival.
