**Self-Employed Host Respite Provider**

The Host Respite Program provides respite for individuals of all ages with a developmental delay, in your family home or in the client’s home. The program matches Self-Employed Host respite providers to a client to provide overnight respite, usually a weekend once a month. The program provides a necessary break for the client’s family, offered across Middlesex/Elgin County.

**We are currently seeking Self-Employed Host Respite Providers in: London, South Middlesex, Strathroy, Byron, West Lorne and Dorchester**

**Self-Employed Host Respite Provider Responsibilities**:

- Provide overnight supports to children/adult with a developmental delay in your home or in the client’s home
- Provide safe, healthy and respectful home environment to an individual based on mutually positive match.
- Assist individuals to further develop skills and independence
- Support the individual in the community to access social activities

**Skills/Qualifications required**:

- Experience, commitment to providing support and care to individuals with a developmental delay
- Education and training in related field is preferred
- Patient, committed, reliable
- Ability to respect confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Excellent communication skills
- Current and original copy of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Search,
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team providing support and planning
- Non-smoking home

**Other**:

- Screening and matches and ongoing support provided by Host Case Coordinator
- Interested providing support on a long-term basis, min. 1-year commitment.
- Driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, preferred
- Individuals, couples and families are welcome to apply

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $75.00 per day

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Night shift
