**Employment Opportunity: Full Time Lending Specialist - Victory Credit Union**
Victory Credit Union is a full-service financial institution with 3 branch locations serving our members throughout Hants County. We are currently seeking an individual to join our team as a full-time Lending Specialist. The main purpose of this position is to manage and develop, a portfolio of personal and small business loans as part of a professional team.
Reporting to the Lending Manager, the Lending Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to managing and developing a portfolio, providing lending services to current and potential members, and ensuring all lending activities are in compliance with legislation and best practices.
The position:
- Analyze applicants' financial status and credit to determine the feasibility of granting loans.
- Prepare credit information necessary to establish credit limit including such factors as the applicants' assets, credit experience, debt/income ratio, credit score and other underwriting procedures in accordance with policy and procedures. Approves or declines loans within approval limits.
- Compile loan package and negotiate loan structure with applicant, including rate terms, repayment options, and other credit terms. Ensure loan agreements are complete and accurate according to policy and regulatory requirements and security is in place prior to disbursement of the funds. Ensures timely loan closing and disbursement of funds.
- Analyze current local market and potential trends to plan and develop relationship building activities.
- Analyze potential opportunities involved in each situation to further assist the member. Cross sell borrowers on the benefits of utilizing other Credit Union services including investment referrals.
- Monitor account overdraft activity to ensure accounts operate within limits and qualify from a risk standpoint. Ensure appropriate action is taken to minimize losses.
- Supports virtual and mobile service offering.
- Completes reports and other duties as assigned.

- Business Administration certificate or diploma and 2-3 years experience in credit or an equivalent combination of training and experience along with a strong desire to grow professional credit knowledge
- Exceptional communication, work planning and management skills
- Have a proven track record of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Computer skills with a focus on Microsoft Office Suite including advanced knowledge of Word & Excel.
- Flexible to support lending needs at any of our Windsor, Brooklyn or Kennetcook locations.
