Stock Fulfillment

Stock Fulfillment is primarily responsible for keeping displays, coolers and shelves fully stocked and delivering the best possible customer experience on the retail floor. This involves customer-facing activities (e.g., greeting customers, clarifying needs and identifying solutions as applicable, and non-customer-facing activities (e.g., stocking and rotating merchandise, monitoring expiry dates and removing out-dated and damaged stock).
**MAIN DUTIES**:
- Comply with company policies and procedures; supporting company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
- Responsible to meet or exceed all goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) as applicable
- Under the direction of the Warehouse & Logistics Manager; give each customer immediate and undivided attention, following through on all guest questions and requests; keep all cases, fridges, freezers and shelves clean, well-stocked and properly rotated
- Accept and process product from Pender warehouse
- Maintain back stock areas according to the Warehouse Floor Plan
- Prepare daily for next day stocking (splitting, labeling, packaging, shelf tickets)
- Monitor expiry dates and TOS, both in store and back stock and report to Warehouse & Logistics Manager
- Ensure promotional/clearance/sale signage is brought to the retail floor in a timely manner
- Be aware of and gain knowledge of new products and their placement
- Ensure department supplies are well stocked and cleanliness is maintained
- Notify Warehouse & Logistics Manager of any errors in retail pricing or signage
- Notify Warehouse & Logistics Manager of dated/damaged/stolen product or empty packaging
- Practice proper use, care and maintenance of all tools and equipment required by the position
- Know and practice proper lifting techniques
- Report safety concerns, violations and hazards immediately to the Warehouse & Logistics Manager
- Effectively communicate with all Team Members regarding proper department operations
- Answer telephones, when time permits, as per company protocols and with proper etiquette
- Attend all department, store and training meetings when scheduled
- Maintain a calm demeanor and manage issues professionally and respectfully in accordance with company standards
- Act with integrity and trust, modeling behavior that respects employees, peers and customers in accordance with the core values of the Company
- Comply with the standards, policies and procedures outlined in the Gourmet Warehouse Employee Handbook
- Perform any other duties as requested by management within entire store footprint
**QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE**:
- Superb customer service skills with a desire to provide a great shopping experience for customers
- Must be able to work well and communicate effectively and positively with inventory and delivery personnel
- Attention to detail and eye for consistency
- Understanding of product placement
- Reliability and punctuality
- Ability to take own initiative and work under own direction taking accountability and responsibility for actions
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and maintain a professional demeanor under stressful situations
- Open availability for flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends and statutory holidays
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Hourly, full time, scheduled 40 hours per week
- Requires availability weekdays and weekends
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing and other activities necessary to perform job duties
- Minimally must be able to lift 25 pounds without assistance; may lift up to 25 pounds with or without assistance
- Must be able to reach above and below shoulder height
- Ability to climb a ladder and use a stepstool
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $17.85 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
