DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the National Quality Manager, the RTD Quality Specialist leads the development and monitoring of quality standards associated with Ready to Drink (RTD) beverage production while providing insight and expertise. The RTD Quality Specialist will ensure adherence to quality specifications and standards at the contract producer level. Provide timely and consistent updates to the Technical Team leadership group and key stakeholders, including new product development (NPD) milestones, regular production updates and non-conformances.

**Responsibilities**:
- Develop, oversee and audit quality assurance procedures and standards associated with the RTD business (e.g. ASBC analytical standards, microbiology program) at RTD production facilities and validate that Sleeman standards are met.- Lead the supplier audit program at the RTD producer level with respect to policy and process. Conduct regular ongoing audits and follow up to ensure implementation of corrective actions.- Act as a resource to resolve RTD related quality issues and provide technical advice/support as required (e.g., non-conforming product situations, product withdrawal/recall recommendations, audit corrective actions, regulatory compliance).- In partnership with the Innovation Technologist, complete due diligence related to RTD new product development specifically impacting quality and food safety requirements, labelling standards and regulatory requirements- Conduct ingredients research during the RTD new product development process to meet new product expectations and ensure compliance to CFIA and other regulatory requirements- Validate adherence to Sleeman standards through regular auditing and corrective action follow-up- In collaboration with the RTD Operations Specialist, support RTD scale-up and commercial NPD trials at contract production facilities.

**Requirements**:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a food and beverage industry, experience in RTD production environment considered an asset- Post-secondary education in Food Science or related field- Work experience performing food product development for a food and beverage processing company- Working knowledge of food safety and quality assurance best practices- Demonstrated knowledge of continuous improvement methods including RCA and the DMAIC approach- Ability to create reports and deliver presentations- Effective communication skills, written and verbal. Bilingual in French and English considered an asset- Interpersonal skills with ability to influence and build internal and external relationships- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy- Acceptable criminal record check- Ability to demonstrate behaviours that support organizational values

Working Conditions- Approximately 75% of time in an office environment, and approximately 25% spent in the contract production facilities- Travel is required- Must wear proper PPE to mitigate hazards present in production areas and adhere to all facility safety rules
