Receptionist /Animal Care Assistant
**Duties**:
- Answering the phone, booking appointments, discharging patients ,selling food, unpacking orders, stocking shelves.
- Ordering supplies, receiving supplies, maintaining computer records for inventory, reminders, call backs etc
- follow up calls to clients
- Provide daily care and maintenance for animals in the vet clinic
- Assist with animal handling and restraint during procedures or examinations
- Clean and sanitize animal enclosures, equipment, and common areas
- Maintain accurate records of animal care, treatments, and observations
- laundry, general cleanliness of the facility
Depending on your experience + strengths in each area, and FT vs PT, matched with our present staff you maybe asked to more in the front or more in the back. The full time position would heavier on the reception side. Flexibility is an asset.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with animals in a veterinary office environment ( 1 year minimum) is a must
- Knowledge of basic animal care and handling techniques - Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with veterinary or dental staff and clients
- Basic computer skills, experience with Avimark an advantage
Please note that this position may require 1-2 evening shifts(to 6pm) or weekend hours(1-2 Saturdays per month 9-3pm based on the needs of our patients. We offer competitive compensation for eligible employees.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week

- Secondary School (required)

- Veterinary Assistant: 1 year (required)
- Front desk: 1 year (preferred)
- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
